Frequently Asked Questions:
A: At Corpus Christi Church, like many parishes, we offer a program in January and then again after Easter. Please use the navigation bar to the left to find out more information about other programs in the Diocese of St. Petersburg, or throughout Florida. If the information listed is out of date, please contact the parish directly.
Q: What if I am not sure whether to go back to the Church? A: That is one of the main reasons we have offered this program. We will listen to you, try to help you understand what the obstacles are, and we will not put pressure on you.
A: Most Catholic churches have an Inquiry class that may lead to the RCIA program. That might be a better program for you. Please contact a church office near your home to ask their advice. Click here for a list of churches in the Diocese of St. Petersburg.
A: Generally it makes the most sense to go to a program at the Parish you may join. If they don't have a program, and you want to go to another parish, just mention this and you should be welcomed warmly.
A: Yes, if you want the person to be there as support. However, we may ask any active Catholics to limit his or her involvement in the discussion to provide a better opportunity for the Returning Catholics to speak. We also ask all participants to keep confidential any personal information discussed.
A: As a baptized Catholic, you are welcome to attend Mass and receive the Sacrament of Penance, also known as "Reconciliation." However, some people feel unsure or may feel there is some "unfinished business." Some have issues of faith or morals that they want to talk about. Some seek an annulment or just need someone to listen to them about what happened in their spiritual life. Others benefit from meeting some parishioners first and receiving support and encouragement through our program. For further thoughts, click on: Are You Ready?
